While we await a new album from Daughtry,  Chris and the guys have announced plans to release the “B Sides” from “Leave This Town” as a CD next month.

The seven-track CD will be available May 10 through Daughtry’s website. Pre-orders are being taken now.

The CD will include six tracks previously available for download, plus “Back Again,” originally featured as a B-Side on the UK version of the band’s “No Surprise” single.

I’ve seen interviews where Chris and his bandmates talked about the difficultly of whittling their fine “Leave This Town” album to 12 tracks.  They clearly decided more than 12 were worthy releasing now.

By the way, “September,” one of the singles from that album, is still number four on the adult contemporary chart, 34 weeks after its release. It spent two months at number two, stuck behind Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are.”

Meanwhile, Daughtry has also announced a series of 2011 concert dates, including a show near Philly. The band will play the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, N.J., on May 15.

Tickets start at $49 for a show that will also feature Lifehouse and Colbie Caillat. Go here for details and here for a list of the band’s other upcoming shows.
