Kimberley Locke will be a co-host on the new ABC program, The Revolution.Whether you care about such programs or not, I’m sure you heard last week’s news that ABC cancelled two long-running soap operas, “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.”

Well, one of the replacement shows will feature season two American Idol contestant Kimberley Locke as a co-host.

The show is tentatively titled “The Revolution” and will replace “One Life to Live” on ABC in January.

Produced by J.D. Roth (“The Biggest Loser” and “MasterChef”), each week the show will follow the story one woman who spent five months trying to lose weight.

Also hosting will be fasion consultant Tim Gunn of “Project Runway” fame and celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak.

Kimberley has fought her own weight loss battle and appeared on VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club” back in 2007.

The last big news from Kimberley came last year, when she released a single called “Strobelight” on Randy Jackson’s Dream Merchant 21 label.

The song cracked the top 10 on Billboard’s dance/club play chart. A CD featuring 11 remixes — yes, 11 — is available on iTunes and Amazon.

I’m looking forward to this. Kimberley has great charisma on camera and can relate to the topic of the show having gone through the weight loss journey herself.
