David Cook’s Team for a Cure was once again one of the top fundraising groups in the Race for Hope in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.
David’s team was credited with raising more than $92,000 at the event, just shy of the group’s goal of $100,000.
The Race for Hope raises money for research in the fight against brain tumors.
David lost his brother to brain cancer the year after he won Season 7 of American Idol.
And on Sunday, he tweeted a photo of himself and Vice President Joe Biden, who lost a son to the disease last year.
“Nice to meet such an amazing champion for the cause,” David wrote.
Speaking of champions for the cause, David has helped raise well more than $500,000 for Race for Hope over the years.
This year, he held a Saturday night benefit concert with proceeds going to the organization.
The David Cook Team for a Cure wound up second on the event’s fund-raising tally board. The 2016 Race of Hope raised nearly $2 million.
