david cook 9-13-375David Cook fans will have to wait a little more than two months for that new album from the Season 7 American Idol champ.

David has announced that “Digital Vein” will be released Friday, Sept. 15.

He’s also signed a distribution deal with InGrooves Music, according to his website.

After winning Idol, David released a self-titled album that went platinum on RCA and a followup (“This Loud Morning”) in the summer of 2011 that didn’t.

Now an independent artist, he’s helping fund the new album through a Pledge Music campaign and announced the release date there on Tuesday.

He also invited fans to a private party to celebrate the album release on Sept. 15 and it sold out within minutes, according to the site.

If you haven’t checked out the Pledge Music campaign, here’s the link. Lots of goodies are still available, including signed set lists and personalized postcards from David.

He had announced the name of the album and the track list a little more than a week ago.
