After four years, David Cook fans have what they’ve been waiting for — a new album from American Idol’s Season 7 champ.
And judging from the comments posted to David’s Facebook page, they’re pretty much unanimous in their love for the music on “Digital Vein.”
But before we get to that reaction, a couple bits of business.
David is live streaming tonight’s sold out album release show in Nashville, and tickets to the live stream are still available by heading here. Start time is 8 p.m. EST.
Next up is a Digital Vein tour, and David will be making three stops in this general area. And you might want to snag tickets soon; one show in New Hampshire is already sold out, as are meet-and-greet tickets at a number of venues.
* David will be performing an acoustic show at Ram’s Head on Stage in Annapolis, Md., on Monday, Nov. 2. Tickets are $29.50.
* The next night, David will perform at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C. Tickets range from $17.50 to $27.50.
* On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Digital Vein tour will stop in Bethlehem, Pa., as part of Musikfest. David will play at Steel Stacks. Tickets range from $22 to $32.
Now, some of the reaction to Digital Vein:

You can read lots more by heading to that Facebook page. You can also check out all the other tour dates there.
And if you want to listen to the album before buying, People.com is the place to go.
As of 8:45 a.m. this morning, “Digital Vein” was sitting at number 19 on iTunes’ pop albums chart and number 123 on its overall albums chart. Those numbers are probably depressed by the fact that many fans bought the album through a Pledge Music campaign.
Today’s other big Idol-related release — Katharine McPhee’s “Hysteria” — was number 31 on the pop chart. It hadn’t made it into the Top 200 on the overall chart as of 8:45.
Update: At 4:30 p.m. EST, “Digital Vein had climbed to 88 on the overall iTunes album chart and 15 on the pop album chart. “Hysteria” was 176 on the overall chart and 22 on the pop chart.
