David Cook is planning a Concert for Hope on April 29.David Cook is participating in the Race for Hope in Washington, D.C., again this year.

And he’s also performing a Concert for Hope in D.C. on Friday, April 29, two days before the race.

In fact, tickets for the shows at the Warner Theater went on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The base price ranges from $52 to $62, and you can go here to order.

David, of course, lost his brother Adam to brain cancer in 2009.

That’s the same year he got involved in the Race for Hope, which raises money to fund research and support services for those affected by brain tumors.

Both years since, the David Cook Team has raised more money for the event than anyone else. Last year, the team had pledged $140,000 by race day, more than twice as much as the second top fundraising group.

And David Cook’s Team for a Cure appears headed for a three-peat. As of Tuesday night, they are this year’s top fundraisers with nearly $41,000 in pledges.

The events, now in its 14th year, raised $2.3 million last year and has raised $11 million in its history.

For more information on the race itself, follow that same link above.

And, don’t forget, pre-orders are now being taken for David’s upcoming sophomore album. With each pre-order comes a free instant download of his cover of “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” this year’s farewell song on American Idol.  Go here for details.

Of course, we’re still anxiously awaiting a release date for that album.
