IdolForums.com is reporting that Kenedi Anderson withdrew from American Idol Season 20 after competing in the Top 24.

Neither American Idol or Kenedi has addressed the report.

If it happened, it would mark one of the biggest defections / dropouts in the show’s history.

Kenedi, 17, of Crozet, Va., was one of three artists presented platinum tickets in honor of the show’s 20th season during the auditions.

Luke Bryan said she “might be the biggest star we’ve ever seen” after she covered Lady Gaga’s “Applause,” accompanying herself on piano.

IdolForums has an excellent track record when it comes to reporting Idol spoiler news. The site correctly identified every member of this season’s Top 24 weeks ago.

And if Kenedi left the show, it would explain …

* Why Kenedi hasn’t celebrated her selection to the Top 24 on any of her social media sites. She hasn’t tweeted about Idol since March 28th though she appeared on the show April 3 and April 4.

* Why Idol hasn’t posted video of Kenedi’s Hollywood duet or her Showstopper performance, despite posting video of nearly every other performance it aired.

Remember, Idol Season 19 was filled with unprecedented cast problems.

Benson Boone bolted after making the Top 24. Wyatt Pike dropped out just before the Top 12 reveal. And Caleb Kennedy was removed from last years Top 5 after old video surfaced of him sitting beside someone wearing apparent KKK garb.

Then there was the strange case of Top 7 finisher Arthur Gunn, who refused to perform with Sheryl Crow at the last minute in the Season 19 finale.

Arthur had been the Season 18 runner-up. But since all the pandemic season performances were done at home, Idol decided to invite several top Season 18 singers back for one performance on Idol’s big stage and a chance to make the Season 19 Top 10.

That “twist” blew up in Idol’s face. Now it appears the platinum ticket “twist” might do the same.

Which Idol deserves. All the platinum ticket twist showed is that the Idol judges know much more beforehand about the singers walking into the audition room than the show likes to admit.
