Among the contestants we were introduced to this week, Gabe Brown was the first of America’s small-town finds to advance to Hollywood.
The 21-year-old is the rocker Nicki nicknamed “Curly” during his audition.
You might remember him better for the big booming voice he displayed when he launched into “Give Me Shelter,” then went wild halfway through “We All Die Young.”
The strategy worked. He got four yes votes and is Hollywood bound.
Here are three videos of Gabe performing, two with a band called Helforstout and one where he’s in a more soulful mode. I’ll post a full bio blog at a later date.
“Know Your More” (original song with Helforstout)
“Whole Lotta Love” (with Helforstout)
“Hold On I’m Coming” and “Soul Man”
