The Rangers and the Giants begin their quest to become World Series champions tonight.

But with the series being televised on FOX, you just knew there would have to be American Idol connections.

So far, Kelly Clarkson, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest are getting in on the action.

Kelly will sing the national anthem before game three, set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Texas.

Hey, that’s fitting, since Kelly arrived on the Idol scene nine years ago as a girl with a big voice from the small town of Burleson, Texas.

As for Randy and Ryan, they’re going to serve as celebrity judges.

Of what, you might ask.

Glad you asked.

MLB.com is holding a Halloween costume contest. Parents are being invited to submit photos of their children, in costume, here.

Three winners will be revealed during that very same game three, on Halloween eve.
