We’ve hit a bit of a late-August/September lull in high-profile Idol releases.

Don’t worry. It won’t last for long.

In October, we’ll get new albums from Blake Lewis, Katharine McPhee and a Christmas CD from David Achuleta. See the “Upcoming CDs” link at right for details.

And, according to a Tweet he posted Thursday, Kris Allen’s debut album will be out Nov. 17. No word yet on release dates for debuts from Adam Lambert or Allison Iraheta, both of whom signed with 19 Entertainment around the same time as Kris.

Meanwhile, here’s a look at how Idols fared on the Billboard music charts released Thursday week:

American Idol Season Eight: Don’t forget, the top 10 Idols will soon be back in the area. They play the Sovereign Center in Reading Tuesday, Sept. 8. Meanwhile, the season eight album checks in at number 147 on the Billboard 200 this week, down from 116.

Kelly Clarkson: “Already Gone” continues a steady climb up the Hot 100 chart this week, jumping from 79 to 65. Two weeks ago, it was number 89. Meanwhile, “I Do Not Hook Up” has fallen out of the Hot 100. Kelly’s album drops 13 spots this week, from 67 to 80 on the Billboard 200.

David Cook: For the fourth straight week, “Come Back to Me” is number 17 on the adult contemporary singles chart. It jumped from 88 to 80 on the Hot 100. But David’s debut album dropped all the way from 99 to 122 on the Billboard 200.

Daughtry: Six weeks after its release, “Leave This Town” is still among the top 10 albums on the Billboard 200. This week, it drops one spot to number nine. “No Surprise,” the lead single, hit a new peak of 23 on the Hot 100, up two spots. It’s also number 16 on the adult contemporary chart and number 11 on the Pop 100. Daughtry’s debut album is still number 104 on the Billboard 200.

Jennifer Hudson: “If This Isn’t Love” bounced back into the top 40 on the R&B singles chart this week, rising from 41 to 35. Jennifer’s self-titled debut album is number 49 on the R&B album chart, down from 42.

Kellie Pickler: The single, “Best Days of Your Life,” has apparently seen its best days. It has disappeared from the country singles chart; it’s down to 81 on the Hot 100 after peaking at 46 about two months ago. Kellie’s second album is number 25 on the country chart and number 117 on the Billboard 200.

The album drops from 54 to 63 in its fifth week on the charts.

Mandissa: Her second Christian album, “Freedom,” is number 22 on the Christian albums chart for the second straight week.

Phil Stacey: Speaking of Christian albums, Phil’s “Into the Light” hit stores Tuesday. The lead single, “If You’re Not Shaken,” dropped one spot this week to 18 on the top Christian songs chart.

Carrie Underwood: Wow, Carrie Underwood doesn’t have an album among the top 100 on the Billboard 200. Can’t remember the last time that happened. Oh, well, with another album due in November, that won’t last for long. “Carnival Ride,” Carrie’s second album, dropped to 114 on the Billboard 200 this week; it’s number 24 on the country album chart.
