Remember American Idol’s “traveling man,” Kohlton Pascal, a talented singer who auditioned with an original song in Kansas City?

Harry Connick Jr. warned him that American Idol might push him out of his comfort zone.

Well, not this year.

Kohlton told syracuse.com that he decided to turn in his golden ticket and skip the trip to Hollywood, something that doesn’t happen very often.

He said he plans to give the show another shot in the future, but for now plans to focus on developing his music, perhaps recording an album and playing shows locally.

Idol identified the 21-year-old as being from Auburn, N.Y.

He might have dropped out of Idol Season 14, but he credited exposure from his audition to the fact that “I’ve been booking (shows) like a mad man for the last couple weeks.”

You can find out more about Kohlton here.
