After American Idol

Jason Castro still making great music, minus the dreads and plus two siblings

Jason Castro from that magical seventh season of American Idol?

Well, the dreadlocks are gone, but Jason’s still making music as one third of Castro (the band), also featuring younger sister Jackie and younger brother Michael.

And if the first two songs released by the trio are any indication, this could be magical.

Castro released the single “Diamond Dreams” late last month. You can check it out at right.

On Thursday, a second single, “Automatic,” debuted on The Boot. Head here to listen to the official audio for that song, where Jackie’s superb vocals take center stage on the opening verse.

Both songs are from the band’s upcoming seven-track EP, also called “Diamond Dreams.”

It’s available for pre-order now on iTunes. EP bundles are also available from the band’s website.
Wherever you pre-order, you’ll get those first two songs as immediate downloads.

The anticipated release date for the EP is Sept. 1. It will also include “Rock and Roll,” a song the band shot a video for last year.

You can also keep up with the Castro family band on Facebook. On Twitter, they are @CastroTheBand.
