Taylor Hicks performed for Republicans gathered in Tampa Thursday night.

And, next week, the Democrats will get to hear from Jessica Sanchez, runner-up to Phillip Phillips on Season 11 of Idol.

The Democratic National Convention Committee announced its performer lineup for next week’s gathering in Charlotte, N.C., this morning.

Jessica, who’s too young to vote, is scheduled to perform sometime Wednesday, about the only off day the Idols have next week during their summer tour. She’ll be performing that night at the Time Warner Cable arena along with DJ Cassidy and Branford Marsalis.

Thursday’s convention coverage will include President Obama’s acceptance speech. That day’s list of performers includes the Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige, James Taylor and Marc Anthony.
