If you’re not heading out to enjoy fireworks on July 4, you can watch a pair of shows on TV and listen to some Idols in the process.
PBS will televise A Capitol 4th at 8 p.m. The 90-minute show will feature season six winner Jordin Sparks singing “Beauty and the Beast,” while Mark Ballas and Chelsie Hightower dance to her performance.
Other guest stars at the show will include Matthew Morrison of Glee and Little Richard.
Jimmy Smits will host, live from Washington, D.C.
And if you miss the first airing, the show will be rebroadcast at 9:30 p.m.
Macy’s, meanwhile, will host its annual fireworks show in New York, to be televised on NBC beginning at 9 p.m.
The fireworks will be syncronized to music by Katy Perry, LeAnne Rimes, James Taylor, Taio Cruz and season three Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson.
The show will also feature performances by Brad Paisley and Beyonce.
