The big day is almost here for Jordin Sparks and Brooke White — album release day.
Jordin was on Good Morning America Monday to promote her new album, “Battlefield,” which hits stores Tuesday.
So what’s different about album number two, Jordin was asked.
“The big difference is the growth in me as a person. And the growth in my voice,” Jordin said.
“And I’ve gone through a couple things. Not too much, because I’m still only 19. But a couple of things. My songs reflect that.”
She also talked about the craziness of touring with the Jonas Brothers. You can go here and listen.
More TV appearances are on the way over the next couple of days. And, Saturday, I posted info about a couple of good reviews of Jordin’s second “album.
Not all have been as complimentary. Here’s a link to an Associated Press review that moved today.
Ouch!
For Brooke, Tuesday is “High Hopes and Heartbreak” day. That is, of course, the title of her post-Idol debut, released on iTunes last Tuesday, released in stores everywhere this week.
Brooke released the album under her own June Baby Records label. Why June Baby?
Glad you asked. Brooke answered the question on Blog Talk Radio Thursday night.
“That would be, quite simply, because I was born in June,” Brooke said.
As for “High Hopes and Heartbreak?”
“I had written this blog a long time ago, before Idol, kind of talking about my beginnings in music and the experience I’d had,” Brooke told Blog Talk. “And one of the things that I had written in there was: ‘It was a bumpy beginning, fraught with high hopes and heartbreak, experiences that I’ve turned into songs.’
“I feel like it perfectly describes, for one, life. But, for two, my experience with music and attaining dreams and different relationships. I just thought it was really fitting for where I was at.”
You can go here to hear the full interview, and Brooke will be doing her own promotional blitz Tuesday, appearing on Good Morning New York at 8 a.m. and Entertainment Weekly at 12:30 p.m. And here’s a new blog Brooke posted Monday, talking about her hopes.
I’ll be posting reviews of both albums Sunday. Meanwhile, don’t be bashful about letting me know what you think. Post your comments below.
