And, from all signs, it’s likely to be a successful release.

After all,  an EP of Scotty performances on Idol is still number 25 on the country albums chart and number 103 on the Billboard 200.

Both of which are pretty impressive considering the EP was released 12 weeks ago and some of the tracks were previously available as individual downloads from iTunes.

Scotty’s “Clear As Day” album comes out Oct. 4. For a wonderful track-by-track explanation of the songs from Scotty, go here. Pre-orders for the album, including special packages, are being taken at Scotty’s website.

The only downer on the Scotty front is that his second single from the album, “The Trouble With Girls,” disappeared from Billboard’s Hot 100 this week. Last week, the song was number 84. It has yet to crack the top 30 on the country singles chart.

Elsewhere on the charts this week:

* Kelly Clarkson’s new single, “Mr. Know It All,” jumps from number 20 to number 11 on the adult pop songs chart. It dropped from 18 to 35 on the Hot 100.

* Kelly’s “Don’t You Want to Stay” duet with Jason Aldean reached a new peak of number three on the adult contemporary chart. The song previously reached number one on the country singles chart.

* Jennifer Hudson’s “No One Gonna Love You,” the second single off her new album, moves up six spots on the R&B singles chart to number 29. It has been as high as 23 on that chart.
