Adam Levine said L.B. Crew and Ciera Dumas both have great presence on stage, so he paired them together in The Voice battle round Monday night.

L.B., a former Top 30 contestant on American Idol, turned four chairs in the blind auditions with his performance of “Waves” by Mr. Probz. He’s 29 and from Little Rock, Ark.

Ciera Dumas, 21, of Kernersville, N.C., auditioned with “Tell Me You Love Me” by Demi Lovato and turned two chairs.

The song: “Done to Me” by Charlie Puth
The feedback: Blake Shelton praised both of their performances. Kelly Clarkson said L.B. was great and thought Ciera did well too, especially with her rasp. John said he’d give a slight edge to L.B.
The outcome: Adam declared L.B., one of his four-chair turns, the winner. Ciera was placed on the verge of elimination when no one stole her. But The Voice then announces she was selected for the Comeback Stage.
My take: I supposed with Charlie Puth as Adam’s adviser, one pair was going to have to do a Charlie song in the battles. Honestly, I didn’t like this song choice. It didn’t result in the energy many of the battles produced. L.B. showed nice range and stage presence. I liked the growl you sometimes hear in Ciera’s voice. And I was left wondering what would have happened if they had a song they really could have attacked.
