Lauren Duski has released her second single since finishing runner-up on The Voice Season 12.

Lauren Duski released a new single Friday and will soon follow up with her debut EP.

The single is called “Heart Hurt Good.” And while it’s the second single released by The Voice’s Season 12 runner-up, it also marks something of a first for Lauren.

As in the first time she’s successfully written a happy love song.

Lauren credits the fact that she met someone she fell in love with about a year ago and had that on her mind when she entered a writing session with Robyn Collins and Johnny Simmons.

“I’m like, ‘Guys, it like hurts how much I’m in love with this person. It almost pains me,” Lauren recalled in a Saturday Facebook chat with fans.

“And Robyn’s like, ‘It hurts good, doesn’t it?’ And I was like, ‘Yep. There’s a (song) title in there somewhere. We should write that.'”

And, hence, “Heart Hurt Good,” came to be. You can check it out below.

It follows “Costume Party,” the debut single Lauren released this summer and one that has already garnered more than 460,000 streams on Spotify.

During the Facebook chat, Lauren also announced that more new music is on the way.

Her plan is to release a debut EP called “Midwestern Girl” that will include “a couple of new songs” in early 2019.

And Lauren added that she’s already working on a second EP.

She was also just named as a member of the 2019 CMT Next Women of Country class.

Former Voice champ Cassadee Pope (Season 3) will be headlining the 2019 CMT Next Women of Country Tour. More details will be released soon.

Here’s “Heart Hurt Good.”
