We won’t see a repeat this week.
We’ve yet to see the battles featuring six recipients of four-chair turns, but none of them will be matched against one another when The Voice continues airing battles on Monday and Tuesday.
The closest we’ll come is a Team Adam showdown between two teens with big voices — county singer Shelby Brown and young rocker Amanda Ayala. I won’t be at all surprised if that battle results in a steal.
Ah, yes, four steals remain heading into the second week of battles. Each coach used one last week.
Among the other highlights we have to look forward to:
* Both of the duos on this year’s show will take the stage for a second time. The battle round has always been a problem for pairs, but I’ll be shocked if Andi & Alex don’t advance after scoring the most successful song from the blind auditions. Jubal and Amanda will have to go up against Amy Vachal, one of the stars of the final blind audition episode.
* The other four-chair turn recipients we’ve yet to see for a second time include Viktor Kiraly of Team Adam, Lindsey Elm of Team Gwen, Blind Joe of Team Blake and Evan McKeel of Team Pharrell.
* One of the more interesting Team Blake showdowns will pit Emily Ann Roberts against Morgan Frazier. Both turned two chairs in the blinds, but Morgan has the edge in experience. With Krista Hughes eliminated last week, they’re also the only remaining female country singers on Team Blake. I’ve got to think Blake would like to get one of them to the live shows.
* This week might also be our first opportunity to see Daria Jazmin and Riley Biederer in action. Both young women had their blind auditions montaged — Daria despite the fact that she turned three chairs; Riley despite the fact that she had one of the largest pre-Voice followings on social media.
Notice I said “might.” That’s because Tuesday’s The Voice is a one-hour episode, meaning three battles will be a part of amontage package.
After watching eight full season of The Voice I still do not understand why producers couldn’t at least put montaged performances online. Noah Jackson was eliminated from the show after two performances last week, and we never got to hear him sing.
Below is a look at all of this week’s pairings. Follows the links and you’ll find a bio blog on each singer.
