After The Voice

Mary Sarah is ‘all good’ on her post-show debut single

Season 10 fan favorite Mary Sarah from The Voice has released her post-show debut single.

And it’s exactly what you’d expect: Her great country vocals on a catchy tune with a throwback feel.

The song is call “Without You,” hit iTunes and other music sites Friday, a day after a premiere on OneCountry.com.

Mary Sarah told the site the song stemmed from a real-life experience, the end of a three-year relationship in which she was involved.

“The song tells of realizing that who you date does not make you who you are,” she explained. “Who you are is who you choose to be. ‘Without You’ is meant to be a song that helps those struggling from a breakup.”

Mary Sarah released the song one day before her 22nd birthday.

And she’s accomplished quite a bit in those 22 years. In addition to her run on The Voice, she released three pre-show albums — “Crazy Good” (2010), “Bridges” (2014) and “Dress Up This Town” (2016).

“Bridges” is especially interesting. Recorded when she was still a teenager, it features duets of hit songs with the original artists, like “Jolene” with Dolly Parton.

Mary Sarah told OneCountry she plans to continue to release new music, but isn’t sure whether it will take the form of an EP, an album or a string of singles.

You can follow Mary Sarah through her website or Facebook page. On Twitter, she’s @MarySarahMusic.‏

Now, here’s a live performance of “Without You” from Nashville Today.
