After The Voice

Matt McAndrew announces release date for his post-Voice EP

1
have a release date for that long-awaited new music from The Voice Season 7 standout Matt McAndrew.

Better yet, there’s a very catchy, very impressive lead single to tide us over until the EP comes out.

The song is called “Bones” and you can check out a live performance at right.

The six-track EP is called “Rush in Slowly” and will be out Sept. 9, just a week from now.

Pre-orders are underway on iTunes, with “Bones” available as an immediate download for those who do.

Matt finished second on Season 7. You’ll recall that he showed up for his audition with an open box tattooed on his wrist; he planned to fill it in with a check when he landed a record deal.

Well, his performance on The Voice made that possible, but his “deal” with Republic Records yielded just a single, 2015’s “Counting on Love.”

So he turned to fans to help finance his EP through a Pledge Music Campaign.

They responded, and now we have a followup to “View of the Pines,” the eight-song collection Matt released in 2014, before appearing on the show.

To celebrate, Matt is planning a pair of EP release shows — Friday, Sept. 9, at The Cutting Room in New York and Saturday, Sept. 10, at Bourbon and Branch. Tickets for the Philly show are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

You can order tickets and follow Matt through his Facebook page or website.

#RushInSlowly is amazing. WXPN in Philly has been playing the song Carried Away in advance of the release, but really any of the songs are potential singles.
