Talk about starting out at a young age.
Jasmine Antione says she performed her first solo in church at age 2. She led the other children in a rendition of “Jesus Loves Me” as her grandmother played the piano.
Jasmine says she comes from a musical family; her mother was also a singer.
And she’s a huge fan of American Idol, so she says she had no choice but to try out for the show when the auditions came to Galveston.
Her favorite Idols are Carrie Underwood and Fantasia. Like them, Jasmine thinks she has a unique voice.
There are a couple of other reasons the personable Texan thinks she should be the Season 11 American Idol.
“America need a Houston, Texas, American Idol,” she says. “Second, America needs a 5-foot (tall) American Idol. I don’t think you’ve had one yet. It’s time. “
