Johnny Keyser, Season 11

Meet American Idol contestant Johnny Keyser

3

For weeks we’d be seeing the Idol promos, with Jennifer Lopez telling a good-looking young guy that he was going to be a star.

Thursday night, on Idols final audition episode, from St. Louis, we met Johnny Keyser.

And sometime Thursday, I think Johnny launched a website.

I had visited his Facebook page earlier today and it included a link to johnnykeyser.com that went nowhere.

I checked again a few minutes ago, and there’s a thank you on the home page for all the folks checking out the site because of Idol.

But instead of music on the site, all you’ll find at present is a blog about helping out at a homeless shelter.  A nice touch, I’d say.

On Thursday’s episode, we learned that Johnny’s parents split up when he was young and that he was pretty much raised by his dad.  He “makes a pretty good mom and dad,” Johnny says.

Johnny, 22 at the time of the auditions, is a server in an Italian restaurant and lives in Pompano Beach, Fla.

On Idol, he performed “A Change is Gonna Come.”

And Jennifer wasn’t the only judge he impressed.  Steven Tyler clearly loved his performance.  Randy called it “crazy.”

And, this being an Idol audition, I should point out that he meant crazy in a good way.

On Twitter, Johnny refers to himself as a “song singer/ping-ponger/dream-chaser/life-lover” then adds: “How you see things on the outside depends on what’s inside. If not you, then who? If not now, then when?”

Here are a couple of recent cover songs Johnny posted on Facebook.

“More Than Anyone”

“Plane”

This is one of the best articles about Johnny Keyser. It gives you up to date information including the fact that Johnny is presently working on his new web site which is (in the process). Mark, the writer, makes Johnny’s two YOU-TUBE video’s available along with a quality photo of him.
Watching Johnny’s St Louis audition Thursday night was pure fun! He gives 100% of himself. To see him and to hear him is to know him. Johnny Keyser is a, “Personal Experience,” that leaves you wanting more.
