His audition: Mike Schiavo, 21, of Los Angeles, Calif., auditioned with a unique version of “Talking Body” by Tove Lo. He got Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams to turn around in a heartbeat. Blake Shelton eventually joined them as well. When Mike revealed that his musical inspirations include Maroon 5, Adam joined him on stage for an acoustic version of “She Will Be Loved.” Not surprisingly, Mike joined Team Adam.

His background: As he was growing up, Mike says music became a priority very quickly. He says the first CD he owned was “Songs About Jane” by Maroon 5. After high school, Mike says he told his parents he wanted to pursue music rather than college. He says they weren’t excited about the prospect at first, but have since come around. Mike recently moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of a music career. “Everyone I’ve met in L.A. is a singer or an actor or a filmmaker,” he says. “You can’t really help sometimes but to compare yourself to them. Anytime I’m not working, I’m just trying my best to practice every single day.”
