Cameron Havens from Haslet, Texas, audtiioned for American Idol Season 18

And one of the artists we might meet is Cameron Havens, who auditioned for the show.

Here’s more about Cameron.

* He’s a singer-songwriter, either 19 or 20, from Haslet, Texas.

* In the preview to a July show in Fort Worth, Cameron identified himself as 19 and said he’d started playing gigs two years earlier in the Plano area.

* He’s since performed throughout the Dallas, Fort Worth area. And, judging from Instagram, he’s even made it to Nashville.

* Last summer, he was one of 12 finalists in a song-writing competition held by the Texas Music Pickers.

* He auditioned for Idol during a bus tour stop in Waco, and said producers reached out and invited him to audition. “It feels good to be kind of good at something,” he told a local TV station. “There’s no other job I’d rather have.”

* Cameron just released his debut EP, a collection of four originals recorded live at Travis Austin Customs. “I can’t tell you guys how excited I am to have my own music out into the world,” he writes on social media. “It’s been a long time coming.” Check out “Ghosts,” one of the songs from the EP, below.
