American Idol returns Sunday, Feb. 16, with its Season 18 premiere.

Among the contestants who have announced they auditioned is Aliana Jester.

Here’s more about Aliana.

* She’s 19, a Tampa, Fla., native and a 2019 graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School.

* On Twitter, her bio reads: “I Love to sing and aspire to become a performer.”

* She auditioned for the show last August, when the Idol bus tour stopped in Mobile, Ala.

* In fact, according to a story on AL.com, she was one of the standouts at that audition.

* She sang Beyonce’s “Listen,” the Jackson 5’s “Who’s Loving You,” and Whitney’s Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” promptly those around her to burst into ovation.

* Aliana told the site she’d previously auditioned for The Voice and America’s Got Talent. “I’m super excited,” she said. “My hope is to learn and grow through the experience.”

* She’s since posted a music video cover — taken from a live performance — of “I Will Always Love You” that you can check out below. I think you’ll see why producers were impressed.

* She might have done very well on Idol. She had two shows in Florida that she said would be her last “for now,” encouraging everyone to watch the show.

* And she launched a gofundme campaign in mid-December to help cover expenses because “I’m unable to work until further notice.” Family and friends responded, helping her exceed her $1,000 goal. The title of the campaign: “Help Aliana Accomplish Her Dreams!”
