Dennis Lorenzo is a contestant on the new season of American Idol.

Dennis Lorenzo is among contestants who have announced on social media that they auditioned for ABC’s new version of American Idol.

Idol premieres March 11 with Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan as the judges who determine which singers make it to Hollywood and which don’t.

Here’s more about Dennis Lorenzo.

He’s a 26-year-old pop-soul singer-songwriter born in West Philadelphia.

His father was murdered on the streets of Philly when Dennis was 3, according to his Facebook bio, which says that “heavily inspired” his art, helping “create the lights and darks displayed through his music.”

Dennis has been singing since a young age and says his musical inspirations include Boys to Men, Michael Jackson, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder.

In 2017, he released a five-track EP called Dennis Lorenzo Unplugged with a very much singer-songwriter feel. “Fly or Die” is an especially interesting track.

Says Dennis is a 2017 Instagram post: “I am addicted to and OBSESSED with becoming Supremely Successful!!! MY DAUGHTERS DESERVE IT, THE WORLD DESERVES IT, AND I DESERVE IT!!! I deserve to be able help those in my life and EVEN those who are not!”

You can check out a couple of unreleased originals on Dennis Lorenzo’s Soundcloud page. I’ve embedded “Fly or Die” below.
