Marcio Donaldson is one of the contestants on the new American Idol.

Marcio Donaldson is among contestants who have announced on social media that they auditioned for ABC’s new version of American Idol.

Idol premieres March 11 with Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan as the judges who determine which singers make it to Hollywood and which don’t.

Here’s more about Marcio Donaldson.

Marcio describes himself as a singer-songwriter on Instagram and writes on Twitter: “Music is me and I am music.”

Back in November 2013, the California-based singer released a four-track EP called “24” that he called “the restoration of good music with a new broken sound.”

His artist bio on CD Baby makes it clear that he previously auditioned “numerous times” for American Idol. In 2016 (American Idol Season 15), he made it to Hollywood and his group round performance aired.

“This project is sheer leap of faith,” he wrote at the time. “I’ve been singing for 19 years and, through the course of time, I became accustomed to hearing ‘no’ and ‘you’re not good enough.’

“After that I was forced to find my own way and own voice so I decided that this music thing wouldn’t be handed to me so I made the conscious decision to take it.”
