Meet Domo of Team Cee Lo on The Voice

2

This 26-year-old dynamo from Bronx, N.Y., has worked as a professional hip-hop dancer for seven years. And the young woman who calls herself Domo certainly isn’t timid.

“You’re looking at the next superstar,” she told The Voice, explaining that she can dance like Janet and Michael and sing like Whitney, Celine and Mariah. “Together, it’s a powerful force that hasn’t really been done yet.”

She sang “Don’t Cha,” showing off her dance moves on what was one of the best matches of singer and song and attitude we’ve seen on The Voice so far.

Only Cee Lo spun around. But he was clearly impressed by what he heard and saw. “You’re like your own little industry,” he proclaimed.

Domo also showed off her on-stage charisma by getting the crowd to chant her name. Repeatedly, to the delight of the judges.

What the show didn’t show: Domo performed as Dominique on a team called Rhythm City in Season 4 on America’s Best Dance Crew. Her team finished fourth. She toured China as a pop singer, performing in eight major cities, according to her promotional video. You can watch that 9-minute promo video and hear her covering four songs on her YouTube channel.
