Creighton Fraker, Season 11

Meet Hollywood bound Creighton Fraker

7

I was pretty sure Creighton Fraker was going to be one of those crazy auditioners I consider a waste of time on Idol.

After all, the 28-year-old from Queens was introduced to us as a starving artist.

The next thing you know, he’s strolling down the streets of New York wearing bunny ears.  Then he’s shown performing on a street corner in goofy glasses.

I mean, no wonder he’s starving.

Well, there’s no doubt that Creighton’s a little “out there.”  And his performance was way too over-the-top for my taste.

But he’s not a no-talent crazy, as Idol viewers and the judges soon discovered.

Of course, the fact that he sang a song he wrote about Jennifer, Steven and Randy on the nine-hour bus ride from New York to Pittsburgh might have helped win them over.

Randy called his performance “wild” and intriguing.  Steven called his performance “sweetly insane.”  Creighton’s website proclaims “preposterous vocals extraordinaire” and you can find four songs there.

Here’s a look at some of Creighton’s pre-Idol performances.

“WIll You Still Love Me Tomorrow”

“From a Distance”
