New music coming from Kellie, Jack & White and Vonzell

Wow, what a week ahead for fans of Idol music.  Check it out.

** On Tuesday, Kellie Pickler released her third album, “100 Proof.”   Simply put, it’s been way too long since we’ve had new music from Kellie.  The Season 5 contestant released her last album, self-titled, in September 2008.

Two singles from the album, “Tough” and the title track, are already out.

Kellie will appear on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Wednesday and on the Ellen DeGeneres show on Friday to promote the album.  Mark down the latter appearance as must-see TV.  It’s always a riot when Ellen and Kellie get together.

** Brooke White and her musical partner, Jack Matranga, will released their next EP “Winter” on Tuesday as Jack and White.

Their first EP, “Gemini,” came out in August and was a real musical treat. This one will be available exclusively on iTunes for the first week.  Folks who download it from iTunes will get a bonus track — “Telephone Games” performed live.

What’s more, Brooke and Jack will be discussing this latest venture live on Ustream with an acoustic performance thrown in at 9 p.m. EST Tuesday.  Go here for details.

** Then there’s Vonzell Solomon, who appeared in Idol in Season 4, when Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood squared off in the finals. Vonzell finished third that year.  How many of your remembered that?

We haven’t had a substantial musical release from Vonzell since she released an EP called “My Struggle” in 2006.  On Tuesday, she’l release a new EP, “True Story.”  You can head to her website to her the title track and “Dirt Bag,” a single she released last year.
