More about Jordan:
* His full name is Jordan Chase Torrez and he’s from New Orleans. Jordan attributes his appreciation of music to his time there because whenever “you walk the streets there, you always hear music.”
* But the time he and his family spent in New Orleans was cut short by Hurricane Katrina in the summer of 2005. Jordan’s family was forced to pack what they could and leave the area.
* The family eventually settled in Florida, but Jordan’s mom told The Voice her son seemed to become very withdrawn after leaving New Orleans. A puppy and music helped immensely.
* Jordan said “music helped me express myself. I asked for drums one Christmas. Drums led to bass, and music took off.”
* That’s partly because Jordan joined a church band. But while he played instruments with that band, he didn’t sing.
* He posted his first cover video to YouTube about 11 months prior to his Voice audition.
* And that audition, remarkably enough, marked the first time he sang for an audience, according to his Voice bio.
* The blinds were pre-taped, and Jordan told Voice Views he’s since performed at a few private parties. And he’ll be performing on the main stage at a music festival in Brewton, Ala., in November.
* Jordan said he’s amazed at the amount of support he’s getting from fans in Louisiana, Alabama and especially his hometown of Pensacola, Fla.
* During his Voice audition, Jordan told the coaches he leans toward blues, soul and country music.
