Logan Johnson auditioned for American Idol Season 17.

American Idol has rounded up lots of talented singer-songwriters for Season 17.

Among them is Logan K. Johnson of Idaho.

American Idol returns to ABC with its first Season 17 audition episode on Sunday, March 3.

Here’s more about Logan.

* He was born in Salt Lake City, raised in Boise, Idaho, and grew up in the Mormon Church.

* He’s an old hand at these singing competitions. When he was just 10 years old, he placed second in a Star Spangled Banner competition, earning the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the Anaheim Convention Center.

* After graduating high school, he traveled to Peru on a mission trip with his church. He then intended to attend the Brigham Young University in Idaho.

* He doesn’t appear to have released music yet, but nearly every post to his Instagram account is a cover.

* His most recent covers include “If We Have Each Other” by Alec Benjamin, “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5 and “No Ordinary Love” by Sade.

* Logan typically accompanies himself on guitar, but proves he can play keys on well on the latter song.

* Head here and you can check out a snippet of an original song called “Golden.”

* Logan first posted that he auditioned for American Idol way back in October.

Logan, your sobriety story made me cry almost as much as the passion and power of your vocal performance. Praying and rooting for you, brother!!
