Madison VanDenburg auditioned for American Idol Season 17

Madison VanDenburg was in sixth grade when she landed a key role in a performance of “Annie.”

When she finished her big solo, she received a standing ovation.

She’s been hooked on music ever since, according to her Facebook bio.

Now the talented teen will be taking her talent to Season 17 of American Idol.

Here’s more about Madison.

* She’s 17 and an 11th-grader attending Shaker High School in Latham, New York.

* She lists her genres as R&B, country, pop/rock and acoustic music, a diversity that’s backed on by her YouTube covers.

* Her Facebook bio says Madison discovered her talent around age 10 when she began doing karaoke. Two of her favorite songs to cover included Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”

* Madison also plays piano and guitar and has been doing so for several years.

* During middle school, she would perform at her father Skip’s restaurant.

* In 2017, she placed first at the CASA Proctors Talent Show, an event that raises money to help abused and neglected children. This year, she returned to perform at the show and sing the national anthem.

* Madison released her first single, “Need a Little Heartbreak” in June. According to Facebook, she’s working on a debut EP. You can check out the single below.
