Pierangela of American Idol Season 24
Idol returns to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood.
Here’s more about Pierangela:
* On her website, Pierangela Dózsa Chiodi describes herself as a singer and multidisciplinary artist from Miami Beach, Fla.
* Her family immigrated to the U.S. from Venezuela in 2000, and Pierangela said she grew up participating in jam sessions hosted by neighbors in the common area of the condominium where her family lived.
* “People from all walks of life would boast instruments from all over the world and improvise to communicate through a language that transcends the need for dialogue,” she writes. “Music has been my biggest love since.”
* Another inspiration was her mother, a painter. Pierangela also paints, and you can check out her murals on her website.
* In terms of music, Pierangela has released two singles, “Hypnotize” in 2022 and “In My Hands” in November. Check out “In My Hands” below. Both are quite catchy.
* In her web bio, she says she started writing music at age 12 and two years later was attending the New World School of the Arts and studying classical voice.
* She eventually became lead vocalist for the Afrobeat All-Stars event band and performed at Gather ‘Round in Miami.
* Pierangela performed her first solo show in October and posted about it on Instagram, writing “12-year-old Piera wouldn’t believe it. Success is on the other side of fear and moments like these are the reason I keep going.”
* She is also a third year student at the Berklee College of Music, studying music production and engineering.
