We only saw a tiny snippet of Tara Honda’s audition for American Idol Season 14 in San Fancisco.

Head here and you’ll hear more of why the judges were so impressed with her version of “I Feel the Earth Move.”

Not only did Tara show nice range during the performance, she didn’t seem the least bit intimidated by performing before three superstar judges.

Her audition was so good, she was an easy unanimous yes to advance to Hollywood.

Harry Connick Jr. said he’d buy a version of her rendition of the Carole King classic, calling her lovely and talented.

And Jennifer Lopez said Tara showed the “soul of an artist.”

Idol identified Tara as a 22-year-old server/cook from Murrieta, Calif.

What the show didn’t show: Tara has been singing since age 5 and writing songs since age 15, according to her Facebook bio.

She calls herself “a wild child at heart with a song to sing,” and you can already download some of those songs.

In 2011, Tara released a four-track “To See the Light” EP that is still available through bandcamp.com.

She’s in the process of releasing a new 4-track EP called “Can I Refrain.”

Tara classifies her music as a “mix of indie, pop and rock influences.”

Here are some Tara links, followed by samples of her music.
