And among the artists announcing they’ve decided to take another shot at the show is Travis Finlay.
Here’s more about Travis.
* He’s 25, from Long Island, N.Y., and appeared on the Season 14 New York audition episode.
* He performed “Stay” by Rihanna and impressed all three judges, earning a unanimous golden ticket to Hollywood. Jennifer Lopez said: “You’re a star. You shine. There’s something about you.”
* On his website, Travis tells us he began singing at age 3 in church, became known as “the little boy who sings” and released a Christian album “Love=Jesus” at the age 9.
* Four more Christian projects followed, concluding with “4U,” a five-song EP released in 2013, prior to his Idol audition.
* He told the Idol judges he was supposed to attend the Berklee College of Music, but his family ran into financial problems and he was unable to do so.
* Regardless, he’s remaining busy producing and releasing music. His first secular project, a 13-song album called “Phase II” landed in 2015. You can check out “Cryptic Love Song” from that collection below.
* Travis also says he released an EP called “The Elements” in 2016, but it doesn’t appear to be available on streaming sites. All the others listed above are.
* He did release a lovely cover of “O Come All Ye Faithful” with Lexi Lawson this holiday; there’s a music video as well.
* Travis calls his style “a unique twist on the popular music of today.”
Keep checking back. Lots more Season 18 profiles are coming.
