Megan Joy from Season 8 of American Idol is involved in another Kickstarter campaign.

This time, instead of funding a new EP, she’s helping her mom, Jill, launch a line of rag dolls.

Megan Joy has recorded a song called "Rainbows" to help her mom launch a Kickstarter campaign.

Megan Joy has recorded a song called “Rainbows” to help her mom launch a Kickstarter campaign.

But music is involved.

Megan has written new lyrics to one of her old songs — “Rainclouds” — and recast it as “Rainbows” as part of the project.

“Rainclouds” was part of Megan’s 2012 self-titled EP, also funded through Kickstarter.

And “Rainbows” is available to anyone donating $4 or more to the rag doll project.

The rag dolls are called Barffus, after a doll Jill Joy received from her grandmother as a child.

Jill has designed the new dolls, which she says reflect “quiet inner peace, divinity and joy.”

In addition to dolls, Barffus bookmarks, magnets, iron-on patches and prayer flags are also in the works.

For more on the Barffus project, head here. The fund-raising runs through late August.

Meanwhile, here’s Megan’s new version of “Rainbows.”
