Meghan Linsey BelieverMeghan Linsey’s going to make sure she has new music available while she’s still fresh in the minds of fans of The Voice.

In a shrewd move, the Season 8 runner-up will release an EP called “Believer” next week, well before Season 9 of NBC’s hit show kicks off.

And she’ll stay true to her story-line on the show.

The six-track effort will be a pop-soul EP from a young woman who already enjoyed a taste of musical stardom as a country artist.

You’ll recall that Meghan was once one-half of Steel Magnolia before that country duo broke up. She had tried to launch a solo career pre-Voice, releasing a self-titled country EP last September.

But on The Voice, the focus was on her soul roots. For instance, her soulful Voice single “Change My Mind” cracked the Top 5 on iTunes after the finals aired.

Entertainment Tonight broke the news of the EP earlier this week.

“Recording this time around was really just about finding me voice as a solo artist, and for me, that meant getting back to my roots,” Linsey, 28 when she auditioned for The Voice told the site. “I grew up in New Orleans and I’ve always had a soulful sound, I’m just now really able to showcase it.”

“Believer” will be available on Garth Brooks’ GhostTunes.com on Monday; it should be available for download from all sites on July 31.
