That song is called “I Don’t Care What You Think” and marks a return to more of a rock sound for Moriah.
That’s one of the reasons she says she’s more excited about this release than any of her others over the past four years.
“There was a period of time when I was writing what I thought people wanted to hear rather than what was coming from my heart,” Moriah says in an Instagram video.
She adds that she hopes the new song leaves fans feeling empowered and inspired. Check out the music video for “I Don’t Care What You Think” below.
Moriah made the Top 70 on Season 17 of Idol. Before that, she auditioned for The Voice Season 13 at age 16 and made it all the way to the Top 20.
She’s good friends with Madison VanDenburg, who finished third on the most recent season of Idol. In fact, they joined with former Voice contestant Delaney Silvernell for a show at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y., late last month.
Here’s that music video.
