Kymberli Joye from The Voice Season 15
Menlik Zergabachew from The Voice Season 7
Taylor Alexander from The Voice Season 12
Recent releases from artists who competed on The Voice include a first post-show single from Kymberlie Joye.
Also delivering new music: Menlik Zergabachew and Taylor Alexander.
Here’s a look at those new releases.
The links take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.
* Kymberli Joye, from Season 15, released her first single since the show last week, a gospel song call “Story of Grace.” Kymberli was 26 when she auditioned for The Voice and advanced all the way to the semifinals. More Kymberli music is sure to be on the way. She invited fans to the live recording of her first album at the Rehobeth Church of God in Bloomfield, Connecticut, last weekend and wound up with a packed house.
* Menlik Zergabachew from Season 7 released four singles in 2019 and is already back with his first of 2020, “Bulletproof.” The reggae influence we’ve come to expect from Menlik is there, and this release benefits from a rap assist courtesy of Moeazy. Menlik was 19 when he auditioned for the show and made it to the knockout round back in the fall of 2014.
* Taylor Alexander from Season 12 has released “One and Done”, a pair of acoustic covers, including “Growing Up” from his 2019 album and “Angeles” from late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith’s 1997 “Either/Or” album. “Growing Up” comes from Taylor’s “Good Old Fashioned Pain” album, which made the list of Top 50 albums of 2019 by Country Hodge Podge. And since this is one and done, more acoustic versions of songs from that album will likely follow.
