Next up for the remaining Idols: British Week

0

Next up for the remaining Idols — British Week.

Now we’ve had various twists on that theme in recent years.  Rolling Stones Week.  Beatles Week.  Lennon-McCartney Songbook Week.

Heck, back in Season 7 we were served up the latter two themes in back-to-back weeks.

But the last time we’ve had a wide open theme of this sorts was on British Invasion Week back in Season 6.

Remember, Blake Lewis took on “Time of the Season” by the Zombies and we had performances of songs from The Kinks, Shirley Bassey and The Exciters.

And this week’s song selection might even be more wide open.

Elise Testone said yesterday she was considering singing Joe Cocker’s “With a Little Help from My Friends” and a tune from Jessie J (which certainly wouldn’t have been considering British Invasion).

No indication yet from Nigel on whether the Idols will have to stick to the theme for both songs or just one, last like week.

But the Top 5 results show performers have been announced:  Carrie Underwood and Coldplay.

Carrie will be promoting her fourth studio album, “Blown Away,” which comes out Tuesday.  For more on that, go here.
