Now the sultry siren from Chicago has released three albums in a four-year span.
Album number four from Haley, “Lo-Fi Soul,” landed Wednesday. It’s a 13-song, all-original collection.
And while Haley already released three songs from the album, she says most of the tunes will be brand new to her fans; she’s never performed them in concert.
As for the album’s title, Haley explained that in an Instagram post.
“LO-FI reflects my analog heart while the SOUL reveals untold stories I want you all to experience with me!” she writes.
“I’ve been told I’m an old soul my whole life and I feel like I’ve lived many … You’ll find me floating through time with different genres and eras in my mind that taste all too familiar, like a fine red wine.
“Classic Hollywood glamour meets an eternal free spirit, these songs will take you for a spin on my very own gritty carousel and leave you with a lusty hangover, only to come back wanting more.”
There’s certain a nostalgic flare to many of the songs on the new album. On “Honey, There’s the Door,” Haley name drops Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot. And check out the 1960s vibe on “How Dare You.”
Other album highlights include the delightfully different “Strange World,” “Shook,” “Some Way, Some How” (what a vocal!) and the wonderful album-closing “Baby Doll.”
Haley, 28, put together one of Idol’s all-time Cinderella seasons back in 2011, going from near elimination to a third-place finish (personally, I always thought she should have one, but Idol was clearly determined to create a Scotty McCreery / Lauren Alaina finale).
CDs and vinyl versions of the new album are available through Haley’s website.
She’ll be embarking on a “Lo-Fi Soul” tour beginning next week in New York. That tour includes stops in Sellersville, Pa., Annapolis and Washington, D.C. Check out all the dates and ticket information here.
Here are the three videos she’s already released in conjunction with “Lo-Fi Soul,” starting with the title track.
