They might not be a couple anymore.
But that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped making music together.
I’m talking about Paul McDonald from Season 10 of American Idol and actress Nikki Reed of Twilight fame.
They’ve just announced that they’ll be releasing a debut album, “I’m Not Falling,” next week (July 8).
It’s already available for pre-order on iTunes, and anyone who pre-orders it gets an instant download of the song “Watch Me” (the song embedded above).
The 11-track album includes four songs previously available on the “Best Part” EP, released by Paul and Nikki back in October 2012.
Judging from the simple beauty of that music — check out “Bouquet of Lies” below — I have high hopes for this album.
Paul and Nikki met at the premiere of the film “Red Riding Hood” while he was on Idol and married in 2011.
She filed for divorce in May.
Still, she has wonderful things to say about Paul on her website: “I’ve always loved music and felt connected to it, but was too afraid to explore that avenue. It was Paul’s encouragement and talent that made me feel safe enough to try.”
And writes Paul on his: “We wrote and recorded these songs off and on over the past three years. What a beautiful trip it has been. These songs showcase some of the most honest and raw songwriting I’ve ever been a part of.”
Anyone interested in hearing the new music before the album drops can listen in to a StageIt show tonight (July 3) at 9:30. Head here for details.
