Carrie came up with the ideas for ‘Something Bad’

rowdy Miranda Lambert-Carrie Underwood duet “Something Bad” appears on Miranda’s new album.

But the concepts for the action-packed video for the song apparently came from Carrie, the good girl who frequently takes on a dark side when it comes to music videos.

CMT posted an interview with Trey Fanjoy, director of the “Something Bad” video yesterday.

And he gives credit to most of the sequences that wound up on film to Carrie.

“Carrie had all these amazing ideas,” Fanjoy told CMT. “She wrote her own treatment, and it was the first time she’d done that. Her initial treatment — with photos — was 11 pages of ideas. And my job as a director was just to interpret and filter those ideas to fit it in the 2:49 minutes we had. Carrie had so much great imagery for me to look at. She threw her whole heart into this.”

I’ve embedded the video, for those of you who aren’t among the 6 million-plus who have already seen it.

And if you haven’t checked out Miranda’s new album — “Platinum” — please do. It’s her best yet.

A number of the songs, including the fabulous title track, were co-written by former Voice contestant Nicolle Galyon.
