Idols on the Music Chart

Phillip Phillips’ EP holding strong on Billboard 200

Two weeks out, and Phillip Phillips EP of highlights from American Idol Season 11 continues to perform well on the Billboard 200.

Phillip’s EP slipped just one spot — from 25 to 26 on the Billboard 200 last week. That makes him the second highest Idol on the chart for the second straight week (behind Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away”).

Meanwhile, the EPs from the other Idols who finished in the top five dropped at least 15 spots, and Hollie Cavanaugh’s dropped out of the Billboard 200.

Phillip’s EP includes the single “Home,” plus his performances of “Superstition,” “Volcano,” “We’ve Got Tonight” and his duet of “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” with Elise Testone. For the track list of the other Idol EPs, go here.

Elsewhere on the Billboard charts …

* Kelly Clarkson has another dance hit on her hands with “Dark Side.” The song bolted from 20 to 10 on the dance/club play chart two weeks ago and moved up to number five last week. “Stronger” became Kelly’s first-ever number one hit on that chart.

* It looks like “Touch Me” has peaked on the same chart. Katharine McPhee’s single from “Smash” climbed as high as number four on the chart. But it’s retreated each of the last two weeks and is now down to number 17.

* Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl” exited the Hot 100 after spending 20 weeks on the top singles chart. It peaked at number 18 there and at number one on the country singles chart.
