Update: USA Today is reporting that RCA Records will release the “Sparkle” soundtrack on July 31.
That’s a little more than two weeks before the film’s premiere. And the second single from the 13-track CD will reportedly be Whitney Houston’s cover of the gospel classic: “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.”
Original post: The cover art isn’t even available yet, but pre-orders are being taken for the “Sparkle” soundtrack on Jordin Sparks’ website.
And, as a bonus, anyone who pre-orders the album will get a free download of the “Celebrate” single, featuring Jordin and the late Whitney Houston.
The song was released as a single June 1.
“Sparkle,” the movie, is set for an Aug. 17 release. I haven’t seen a release date for the album.
Jordin plays Whitney’s daughter in the film, one of three sisters struggling to make a career as singers.
Here’s the link for pre-ordering the album.
If you haven’t heard it yet, here’s the song.
