Pre-orders are underway for Kris Allen’s new album.

And anyway pre-ordering “Letting You In” from iTunes will get his new single, “Waves,” as an instant download.

The song is also available separately.

Kris premiered “Waves” at People.com on Thursday, and you can head here to listen to the song.

Kris told the site “Waves” was the first song he wrote for the new album and “definitely inspired” the rest of the material.

He has called “Letting You In” his most personal album to date. His fourth post-American Idol album, it’s due for a March 18 release.

Kris is also heading out on tour in support of the new album with stops planned in Washington, Philly and Pittsburgh, though some tour dates have changed.

Kris will be at The Hamilton in D.C. on April 5, at the Pittsburgh Winery on April 13 and at World Cafe Live in Philly on June 7. He’ll be back at The Hamilton for a second show the next night.

Kris, of course, won Season 8 of Idol and returned to appear on the Little Rock, Ark., audition episode earlier this year.
