If you thought the eliminations were difficult the past two weeks … well, Top 8 week promises to be even tougher on The Voice.

That’s because three singers will be sent home Tuesday night as Season 7 steams toward a Dec. 15 finale.

Follow the links below, and you’ll find a bio of each contestant. Follow the link at the end of the ranking and you’ll find videos of all their Voice performances so far.

Hey, and if you’d rank the contestants differently, let me know by posting a comment below.

The number in parenthesis is last week’s ranking.

Check back Sunday night. I’ll update where the contestants stand on social media. And I’ll be live blogging as always during the Monday performance show and the Tuesday results show.

1. Craig Wayne Boyd (#2, Team Blake): At this point in Season 6, Jake Worthington was the only country singer still on the show. He wound up finishing second. Craig Wayne is much better, and that’s not a knock on Jake. It’s a testament to how good and how polished Craig Wayne is. “I Walk the Line” was his best performance yet. (Performance videos)

2. Matt McAndrew (#1, Team Adam): And Matt’s tumble from the top spot isn’t a reflection of any stumble on his part. The guy is montaged during the knockouts, and he still hits the iTunes Top 200. The guy is forced to sing first on Top 10 night, and he still cracks the Top 30 on that chart. Hello, Adam Levine: Matt is your best shot at winning Season 7. (Performance videos)

3. Taylor John Williams (#4, Team Gwen): Coach Gwen pointed out that he’s so cool he wasn’t wearing socks when he performed last week and thinks 15-year-old girls should have his pictures in their lockers, which they soon might judging from all the screaming when his song ended. I’d just note that “Come Together” was his best performance and one of his best vocals yet. (Performance videos)

4. Damien Lawson (#3, Team Adam): The gent from Monroe, La., waited until the last 30 seconds or so of “You and I” to dazzle us with his vocals. To that point, the performance was a little sleepy and devoid of the emotion we’re used to from Damien. My advice to Adam and Damien: Pull on the heartstrings this week, from the opening note. That’s when Damien excels. (Performance videos)

5. DaNica Shirey (#7, Team Pharrell): There wasn’t a better vocal last week than the one DaNica delivered on Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” Now she and Pharrell need to find a song that can show off her remarkable voice and strike an “I Walk the Line” sort of chord with voters. Check the photo above; the 25-year-old from York is the last lady standing. (Performance videos)

6. Luke Wade (#6, Team Pharrell): Except for the vocal flub at the start of his song on Top 12 week, Luke has been pretty much flawless. And that ending on “Try a Little Tenderness” was beyond possessed. But you’ve got to think there’s going to be vote-splitting problems with so many guys left in the competition. (Performance videos)

7. Chris Jamison (#9, Team Adam): After performing next to last on Top 12 night and getting the pimp spot on Top 10 night, Chris has to get one of the opening spots this week, right? And he can’t survive that, right? Voice producers and 47,000 Twitter fans might think differently, even if I don’t. (Performance videos)

8. Ryan Sill (#10, Team Gwen): He beat the odds by earning two straight instant saves. But can he earn a third straight save when he’s standing alongside three other singers in the bottom four? My hunch is that there’s room for only so many heartthrobs in the Season 7 Top 5, and Ryan won’t be among them. (Performance videos)

You got it right! Craig Wayne Boyd has been so very consistent since the beginning of this competition! His vocals are amazing and flawless, his stage presence is already at a seasoned professional level, and he commands the attention of the audience by connecting with them on a raw, emotional, spiritual level. The guy has got it all … total package! He’s paid his dues … it is time for a good guy with real talent and true star quality to finish first! Craig Wayne Boyd IS The Voice 2014!

All the finalists are good but Craig is heads above on stage presence and vocal command. DaNica is close though.

How does Craig top last week’s “I Walk The Line”? You don’t.
But he nailed the Eagles song. This guy is the real thing who has paid his dues and never given up. I would love to see him win the whole thing. I am a fan of all genres of music, but CWB is in a league of his own.

Matt McAndrew deserves to win; he’s a *star* in every sense of the word, ESPECIALLY given he’s 23 years old! Far beyond his years and so much talent to boot. I didn’t understand what his genre was, as I was not familiar with the alternative style, but he introduced me, and I’m a fan!
