Seventeen singers took the stage Monday night on The Voice.

By the end of the tomorrow night, only nine will remain.

The top vote-getter from each team will advance. Then each coach will save an artist.

Tuesday’s show will conclude with performances by the next highest vote-getter from each team competing or an instant save.

Who deserves to advance from Team Legend?

Here are my song by song grades:

Pia Renee (a Team Legend original), “Need U Bad” by Jazmine Sullivan — Check out this outfit. Did John Legend call CeeLo Green for costume tips this week? The bad news for Pia is that the dress and those red gloves were the most noteworthy thing about the performance. The vocal was not up to par with what we’d heard previously from this young woman. Grade: C–

Ryleigh Modig (stolen in the battle round), “Drivers License by Olivia Rodrigo — I really liked this song choice from Ryleigh, the singer everyone wanted to steal in the knockouts. Given this performance, it’s hard to believe she needed a steal to make it that far. The falsetto was a little shaky at one point, but she has a lovely tone to her voice. It was especially apparent here in that tender ending. Grade: B+

Victor Solomon (a Team Legend original), “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder — Check out Victor’s pink suit. Snazzy, huh? He delivered a fun performance too, complete with a really nice ending. But the vocal wasn’t quite as special. Grade: C+

Zania Alake (a Team Legend original), “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande — Wow, she brought attitude to the stage, didn’t she? Not to mention a pretty darn impressive and dynamic vocal. The song choice was a bit surprising, since I expected her to stick to R&B classics. Zania’s biggest problem is that she occupies the same lane as Dana Monique (see Team Nick). Grade: B

Carolina Rial (John’s rep in the 4-way knockout), “Into the Unknown” by Aurora & Idina Menzel — Carolina didn’t advance from the four-way knockout, but the song she would have performed in the live playoffs is available on iTunes.
